Dear Parents,
It is almost the end of the year and it went by very quickly. I would like to thank all of you for your dedication to the Montessori Method of education. I feel you are truly giving your child a gift of education. My own children draw parallels of their love of learning and work ethic to their time in Montessori school.
The last few weeks will be full of activity! Right now the third through sixth graders are working hard on their biographies. We have many interesting people this year. I hope if you are able to come see the show on the last day of school and that you find someone new from our past to learn more about. The presentations will be on June 14th at 11:00 am.
At this time of year, we often forget that along with the excitement of the end of school and the upcoming summer, this can also be the cause of some anxiety. Their schedules will be different, they may be going to camps where they do not know anyone, and they will not be seeing their friends every day. There can be many factors that as adults we have had a lot of practice and experience but for children this can be an exciting and anxious time. I am including an article that you may find helpful in helping your child navigate these feelings:
IMPORTANT DATES
As always at the end of the year there are a plethora of dates to keep in the front of your mind. Here is a list!
May 29: Memorial Day – No school
June 2: Parent Volunteer and Appreciation Day: This event is for the whole day, please come into the gym and enjoy some fabulous treats made by the children.
June 5: Elementary Spirit Week: The theme days have yet to be determined but we will be sending out a list as soon as the days are finalized.
June 6: Elementary Spring Concert 7:00 to 8:00pm
June 9: Elementary Field Day: There are many volunteer opportunities available. You may sign up on Ivolunteer
June 13: Third and 6th Year Luncheon 12:30 to 1:30. The students will send out invitations to their families for this event.
June 13: 6th Grade Graduation 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm – All are welcome.
June 14th Biographies 11:00
June 14th: Last Day of School
Not yet on the calendar is the 6th grade trip with me. As soon as we finalize the date, the 6th grade parents will be informed.
