International Night is right around the corner and preparations are in full swing in P1. The older children have researched their North American animal of choice and are working together with their younger friends to design and create a suitable habitat for their animals. The children have been painting maps and flags from North America to display in the room.

International Night is a great way to get involved in the classroom community. We need many helping hands to set up on that day. Our volunteers this year will be helping put together the habitats, set up a Teepee and possibly an Inuksuk in the room, as well as, prepare craft materials for the evening ahead. We could also use some helping hands at the craft tables to guide and inspire the visitors to our wonderful continent where we will be making Mexican paper flowers, dream catchers and their own guiding Inuksuk.

But more than anything else, International Night is a fun family event, a unique multicultural experience and something the children really enjoy sharing with their friends and family. They love sharing what they have learned over the past months while preparing for the event and they take pride in showing off their labor of love.

We hope you to see you there.

“Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment.”
