We were lucky to have a visitor in our class who talked to us about parrots.  She allowed the children to hold or pet the two parrots she brought in to school.  The children were asking many questions about the parrots and were very attentive during the presentation.

The children have been very busy getting ready for International Night.  We are Asia this year and have been brainstorming how we want to decorate the classroom with the children.  They have been painting a bamboo forest, a Chinese dragon and the Taj Mahal.  We will be working on Mount Everest next.  The older children have been researching pandas and writing about where they live and what they eat, etc.  When they finish their research they get to create a panda to display on International Night.  They are very excited to transform the classroom.

We have also been working on our auction project. Each child has had an opportunity to help create our project.  They are painting a pot and will plant flowers in it.  The children also helped to design what glass pieces should go together to create an eye pleasing flower for the lucky auction winner!

The children have also been working on their Mother’s Day gifts. They were all eager to share their gifts.

Sincerely,

Rachel
