Montessori Radmoor

Welcome to the fall Primary 3 families!

After an unusual September, we are settling in for cooler temperatures and the beauty of colorful autumn leaves on our playground.

Last Friday, we were joined by parent Paola Leon, who encouraged our students to take part in a community building activity.

Leon, assistant professor at Grand Valley State University, brought bags for the children to decorate to contribute to the Food Basket project.  She also read the book Stone Soup with the children, a story of community giving and sharing.

We are always interested in welcoming parents who have interests and talents to share with the class.  The children love having special visitors, and it helps keep our community diverse.

We continue to settle into our year, getting to know each other and adjusting to schedules.  If your child is tired at the end of the school day, that’s because he or she is working hard and learning new names!

Classroom Environment

We have been talking a great deal about being peaceful, in our environment and in our lives.  International Day of Peace was September 21, so we seized upon that date to talk about caring for our world and caring for each other, including talking about how we can achieve peace within ourselves and our bodies and between each other.

Potluck

We look forward to seeing you and your families at the P3 potluck, Thursday, Oct. 12, from 5:30 to 7.  You can bring a dish to share (sometimes people write the names of ingredients on index cards for those with food sensitivities).

Your child can introduce you to new friends and you can see the work within our classroom environment,  and enjoy some great food.

Conferences

Please don’t forget to sign up for classroom conferences being held on October 30 and 31.  Our school is closed on those days to accommodate the conference schedule.  It is always a privilege to share your child’s progress with you.

Sincerely,

Trish
