Hello and Happy New Year!
I want to welcome Cash and Daniel to our classroom. We are so excited to have them join us. We said goodbye to Nolan who moved up to primary in December. We wish him well in his new surroundings. So, parents if you see some new faces in the hallway give our new families a big welcome.
In the next few months, we will have lots of cold weather. Please be prepared. Even if there is no snow on the ground please bring snow pants and snow boots. The children will go outside weather permitting. Having an extra pair of mittens in your child’s backpack would be a good idea. It’s also a good idea to send extra socks in the winter months in case of boots leaking. Please keep in mind when sending in these items they should fit properly. Children also have growth spurts so check shoes and slippers periodically.
In our classroom, we have been making soup each month. In December we made carrot soup. The children enjoy the preparation and have liked both the vegetable and carrot soup. This month we will be making minestrone soup. This is a fun activity for children in the winter at home and at school.

It’s hard to believe we are starting the New Year and it’s been fun watching just how much your children have grown. I look forward to the rest of the school year.
