It’s hard to believe it is already February! Despite the cold and the snow outside, there is so much wonderful activity going on in the classroom. Some of the younger children are discovering the joys of reading and expressing themselves through writing. Others are exploring the world of numbers and the decimal system.
A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to get a glimpse into another culture through a celebration of the
Chinese New Year. I am so grateful to the parents who came in to share their culture with the children. They were so excited to hear the story of how the New Year is celebrated and having their names written in Chinese. We tasted Chinese noodles and dumplings and got to make paper bag Panda puppets.
Our next celebration will be exchanging Valentine’s Day cards on February 13th. Please remember to have you or your child sign the cards but leave the envelopes blank.
It’s almost conference time again. Conferences will be held on March 13th and 14th from 8:30am-4:00pm. Please sign up for a time through ivolunteer (http://www.montessoriradmoor.org/ivolunteer/).
