Ferris Elementary Wing

Ferris Elementary Wing was dedicated on October 7, 2022

Ferris Elementary Wing – named in honor of Jake and Maxine Ferris, founders and lifelong supporters of Montessori Radmoor School. Jake and Maxine, along with 6 other families, were the original founders of our school in 1968. Jake served on the school’s Board of Trustees for 50 years, 1968-2018, and both Jake and Maxine contributed and served the school in numerous ways over the years. Although both Jake and Maxine Ferris passed away in 2022, their legacy lives on within this vision of bringing authentic Montessori to the community. We are forever grateful for Jake and Maxine’s enormous contributions to Montessori Radmoor School!

Ferris Elementary Wing features three large elementary classrooms with an abundance of natural lighting and learning environments such as student kitchen, outdoor classroom and reading specialist room. The addition provides optimized learning space, in both the new addition and the current building, where Montessori Radmoor can continue to deliver authentic Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) pedagogy to its approximately 200 students.

The Dedication Ceremony included unveiling of the building sign, ribbon cutting, remarks from former Head of School Susie Hyatt, current Board President, Jay Salliotte and Bill and John Ferris. Our Elementary students performed the Radmoor school song, “Take My Hand” and the families toured the new addition.
