Dear Parents,
The year is well underway and we have been doing many exciting things now that we have settled into the swing of things. We have started to investigate the Cenozoic Era as it pertains to North America. It is part of a study for International Night. We have also begun a study on bones as part of our human anatomy research. Last Thursday, the children, Miss Melinda and I, went to Crosaires and helped them start a lavender garden. We worked hard and had a lot of fun. We plan to go back in October to help the residents plant daffodil bulbs. Thank you all for being so responsive to the permission slips!
On October 10th, we will venture out to Fenner Nature Center where we will learn about the cultivation of apples and how to make apple butter. This will be a joint field trip with Ms. Danielle’s class, E1. Please sign up if you can drive for this event on IVolunteer .
Preparations are under way and we are getting ready for the “Chili Chow Down” on Friday, October 20th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Our classrooms will be making the chili for all to enjoy. You can sign up to volunteer for the field trip and the “Chili Chow Down” on IVolunteer.
Lastly, please look for e-mails from our parent coordinator, Melinda Schultz, in regards to upcoming events. Thank you all!
Christine Russell
