Welcome Back!
I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the great gifts you have given our classroom. We are having so much fun opening these fantastic additions to our class. Each time a new item arrives, we gather as a group to open it. We talk about who/where the gift came from, and say thank you. Then each child takes a turn trying it out. The next day we put the activity on a shelf as a part of the work in the environment. These new activities have been a big hit. THANK YOU!
In addition to the new work in the classroom Bjorn has been enjoying letter matching, finding a specific letter and sliding it into its corresponding pocket; Fiona enjoys opening and closing the different latches on the latch truck and finding “Frosty” the snowman inside; Harper loves to use the magnetic fishing pole to catch all the fish at the same time; Henry has been busy exploring the music tapes and instruments; Hyoeun enjoys exploring the different items at the grooming station (barrettes, headbands, combs etc. . . ); Ilya loves the big red barn and all the different animals that live there; Isaac loves to help prepare the snack for each day; Jack enjoys working with the playdo and all the different tools available (cookie cutter shapes, scissors and even a garlic press to squish the playdo through); Kendalyn enjoys reading books with her friends and dancing; Nini loves to assemble pictures by gluing shapes together; Noah loves to explore the texture table (this week with snow and penguins in it); Severen loves to feed and take care of Cocofluff and the fish in our environment. What a fun group of children we have!
We are also thinking of taking a winter field trip. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.
Thanks,
Erin
