Toddler 2 September Blog
Welcome to all of our new and returning toddler families! I am so excited for the new school year and to work with all of your children. We are all getting settled in, learning the routine, meeting new friends and getting to know each other.
During the first month of school, the toddler program focuses on the sometimes difficult transitions your child may be going through. This may include leaving the home environment, meeting a lot of new people (classmates and teachers), or just shifting from summer schedules to school schedules. We try to help ease the transition in a number of ways:
- We provide a consistency in routine, environment, and people on a daily basis
- We use the information gained from our home visits and conversations with you to appeal to your child’s interests and engage them while at school.
We want to work as a team to ensure that your child has the most successful day they can while here at school. You can help by:
- Ensuring your child has a consistent bed/nap time. The children often get tired because of all the new activities in their day, so we encourage all children to get the rest their bodies need.
- Keep your drop off routines the same every day. Give a hug and kiss and assure them you always come back, and will see them later.
These first few weeks are an adjustment for everyone, and it will take time, but please be assured that everyone will come together as a group, and find new friends, activities and adventures!
Some dates to look forward to:
- Classroom potluck Thursday, October 3rd– join our T2 families in the classroom for a chance to meet each other and share a meal from 5:30 – 7:00
- Class Pictures- These will be taken informally by a former parent in the classroom. They will happen later in the month of October (final date TBD)
- A fall field trip (sometimes apple picking, sometimes Harris nature center)
Again, I am looking forward to a great year!
