It always amazes me what children are capable of doing on their own at such a young age. In the classroom they take responsibility of the materials, cleaning and organizing them. They cut vegetables, wash dishes, sharpen pencils, sweep and dress themselves.
Children love to help and feel proud when they get to help with tasks around their home. When your child has responsibilities at home it fosters personal responsibility and independence. If you child is responsible for certain tasks they will appreciate and care what happens to the items in your home more.
Think about what your child could do to help you around the house. Some things your child can do at home are:
* helping prepare meals *setting the table
*feeding pets *folding laundry
*dressing themselves *unloading dishwasher
*picking up their toys *making their bed
As we finally move into spring the children will begin working on our auction project and brainstorming ideas for international night. We are Asia this year and will transform our class into this continent, so if anyone has any interest in helping please let me know! I would love suggestions for art activities or decorating ideas.
