It was wonderful to see the children showing all they know to their special person. The children were so excited to prepare our classroom for Special Person’s Say. They used table scrubbing, polishing and dusting to get our classroom environment ready and we had discussions about what they would show their special person.
We have had many children working with the puzzle maps. Some are piecing them together, some are pin punching continents and some are drawing them. The children love to learn the names of the continents and countries. Many children have been working with the golden beads materials learning about units, tens, hundreds and thousands. Some of the older children are working with multiplication and division with the golden beads and some of the second years have started working with addition. They all have been very excited to learn these new lessons.
With cold weather, comes falling snow and the excitement of playing in the snow. Please remember to send your child to school with warm outside clothes. If they do not have snow pants they won’t get to play in the snow. It is also important to have everything labeled with your child’s name. They do not always keep track of their belongings and this will help keep them with the right child.
Winter break is coming and Oreo is looking for a home during these two weeks. If anyone is interested in taking care of him while school is out, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Rachel
