Some classroom highlights:
This week we have gotten two new yoga mats. The children have been very excited to use them with the yoga picture cards. The children have also started to learn how to grate cinnamon. They love the smell! The older children have been practicing reading books for reading buddies. Our kindergarten age children visit the elementary classrooms and share reading time with the students in elementary. They really enjoy their visits.
The past couple of weeks the children have been discovering the new Valentine art works, working with the puzzle maps and learning about the land and water forms. The golden bead work has also been a popular work lately as they work with the different operations and are exploring the concept of exchanging.
The children have been decorating their Valentine bags and have been talking about exchanging cards. We are going to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Thursday, February 11. We will exchange cards during group time. Please leave the cards blank or not addressed as It is hard for some children to read the names of everyone. Make sure your child’s Valentines have their name on them or who they are from.
We have 28 children in the classroom, so please make sure your child brings enough for every child.
