We are going to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Thursday, February 12. We will exchange cards during group time. The cards do not need to be addressed to anyone. It is hard for some children to read the names of everyone so it is easier if they don’t have to figure out which cards go to whom. Make sure your child’s Valentines have their name on them so the children know who they are from. We have 28 children in the classroom; please make sure your child brings enough for every child.
The children have been decorating their Valentine bags and have been talking about exchanging cards. They do love to share their cards with all of their classmates. The past couple of weeks the children have been discovering new Valentine art activities, working with the puzzle maps and learning about the land and water forms. These materials help develop their understanding of the world – the names of the continents, countries, and words such as, lake, island, bay, cape, peninsula, etc. Several children have been working with the counting chains.
