I hope everyone had a wonderful break. It’s great to be back!
We are welcoming two children from the toddler room to our class this month. The children currently in the room love to show our new children some of the lessons.
In the next weeks the children will be starting to work on our auction project. We will be using recycled CDs to make a beautiful sun catcher. The children will be helping remove the stickers from the CDs and then painting them. This project will be on display the week before international night.
With the cold weather comes the need for warm winter gear to go outside. Please make sure your child has snow pants, boots, gloves and hats in addition to a warm coat. The children are given extra time to practice getting all their outside clothes on. I encourage them to put on as much as they can, on their own. This allows the child to get ready at their own pace and not to have to wait on a teacher to help them. If they try on their own and still can’t get ready then an older child or the teachers are there to assist them. Give your child opportunities to be as independent as possible while getting dressed. If they struggle with a certain piece of clothing allow them the opportunity to practice. This will help eliminate frustrations when your child is getting ready to go outside.
Each time your child accomplishes one of these new tasks it contributes to the development of their self-confidence.
Happy New Year! Rachel
