Happy March!
Yes, this is the month that spring comes to Michigan…but, will it?!? Our playground is so deep with snow and ice- hopefully we will have some warmer weather soon to melt off some of those layers and remind us of the muddy soil underneath! As the weather transitions, please continue to send cold weather gear and snow pants, as they will be a way to keep the children warm and dry on our very wet play area.
Starting last week, the kindergarteners have been taking turns visiting Elementary 1. Many mornings we greet them as they enter our classroom, and then, for some, that is the last we see of them all day! It’s very exciting to watch them enter elementary, some with trepidation, most anxious and interested in visiting and exploring a new environment, even meeting new friends. The children will continue to visit every few days for the next couple of weeks. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns about the children, their visits or their future transition into 1st grade.
Next Thursday, March 12th we are looking forward to our Spring Potluck in P3. Our gathering will be held from 5:30-7:00pm, with clean-up beginning at 6:45. Please sign up on I-volunteer for a dish to pass. We love the variety of foods brought by our families and it’s a great opportunity for the children to try new foods!
**Remember, conference times are still available for next week: Thursday, March 13th and Friday, March 14th.
Please keep in mind that the I-volunteer sign-up closes 24 hours prior to conferences, so please sign up as soon as possible.
Well, that’s all for now, thanks for reading!
Here’s to a healthy and happy upcoming spring,
Trish
