Welcome to Primary 3 –
Thank you for joining us as we continue that Montessori preschool and kindergarten adventure. We are privileged to have your children with us.
Some things to remember about our classroom…
Morning Entry –
As a reminder, if you and your child arrive after 9 a.m., our outdoor access doors are locked for safety. You should proceed to the lobby and Ms. Jamie or another staff member can bring your child to the classroom.
Remember, even for some of our older children, morning goodbyes can still be challenging. A quick reassuring goodbye with tears is better in the long run, than a lengthy goodbye with tears. We are ready to welcome your child and ease them into the school day, and this transition time will get easier over the coming weeks- we promise.
Lunch –
We love lunch time at Primary 3, and want to remind everyone that we focus on healthy lunches and, because of allergies, no peanut products. Thank you for your attention to this important detail.
What do we do at school in these early days –
For our younger children, we are demonstrating works and easing into the routine, which for many may involve snack time and art, and introductory letter sounds (the building blocks of writing and reading).
The older children have works with which they are familiar already, and they are leaping into the next steps – be it map making, or using the moveable alphabet to write stories, or trying the 100 board and phonograms. The materials in the classroom are designed to challenge children of all primary ages and skill levels. We look forward to learning together.
Hope to see you at our events –
One of the most festive days in the fall is Race for Radmoor Day, Sunday, Sept. 25. Feel free to sign up to run, walk or volunteer in the community event, designed for fitness and fun!
We are also looking forward to our fall Primary 3 potluck. The whole family is invited to come and join us on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Please bring a dish or two to share and we will have a fun-filled evening of fellowship and community. You can even ask your child to show you his or her favorite friends and work. (Remember, please – no nut products. You may even wish to emphasize the ingredients in your dish, so that families can be aware of potential allergens.)
It has been a wonderful start to our school year! Thank you for all you do for your child and our community.
Happy Fall!
Trish
