Montessori Radmoor

We are about a month in to the school year and the children have adjusted beautifully!  They were all excited to see each other and to meet the new children who joined our class. They have also gotten to know our new assistant, Courtnie.

My favorite part of a new year is seeing the returning children step into more leadership roles in the class. They are all so helpful and welcoming to the young children.

The children have been working on many materials in the class.  There are many maps being made, stories written and lots of care of the environment.  A new lesson that only the kindergartners get to do is ironing.   The children get to iron placemats and polish cloths after sprinkling them with lavender water.  The older children love that they get to do this “big kid” work (as one child said).

We have our first potluck of the school year coming up on Friday, October 2nd from 5:30 to 7.  It’s a great time to explore your child’s classroom with them as your guide.  They can give you lessons on the materials they work with every day.  We ask you to bring a dish to pass and enjoy the variety of food with your child’s fellow classmates and family.

Hope to see you all there!

Rachel
